There are many reasons to look forward to the weekend, and a big one for us is that we get to hang out with DJ @billstuarttries from 3 to 5 p.m. every Saturday here in the taproom! We never know what he’ll spin, but we know that we always love whatever he chooses. In anticipation of this Saturday’s set, we thought it would be fun to spotlight DJ Bill and ask him a few questions, so here we go! 𝟏. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐉𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭? “I’ve been DJing in Victoria for about 20 years. I had done some impromptu stuff for people’s weddings and parties, but began DJing in earnest when Smiths Pub first opened. I was asked to DJ by manager Andrew Elliot (an incredible DJ in his own right and also runs the show at Boomtown) and Tim Horner. Being a lifelong music fan, playing tunes for other music fans came naturally to me.” 𝟐. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭? “Have been very spoiled with recent releases from some all-time faves like Superchunk, The Beths and David Byrne, but the one getting most spins is Euro-Country by CMAT. She’s one-of-a-kind and she just keeps getting better.” 𝟑.
