No place, but echo is a one-hour concert weaving together six works by UVic School of Music alumni composers Marco Neri (MMus ’22) and Deniz Pekmezci (MMus ’23). Each presents three pieces, paired in a dialogue that explores memory, identity, and shifting emotional states in a program where structured compositions meet free improvisations and contrasting artistic visions resonate and respond to one another.
Featuring performances by UVic alumni Heather Byford (MMus ’23) and Sandra Espínola (MMus ’22) as well as Victoria-based vocalist and improvisor Viviane Houle, this program invites listeners to experience sound as both shelter and transformation.
