For these workshops we recommend that you have some swing dance experience. At minimum you are familiar with Lindy Hop footwork, basic moves, and can swing out, you dance Lindy Hop socially, and have a desire to learn more, be silly, and have fun. Class 1: Riff Machine Get on up! Like a riff machine. We're going to dig into classic Lindy Hop tunes Song Exploder-style: piece by piece, riff by riff. Then we'll play with ways to use this new vocabulary! Class 2: Choreo Sundae We'll burn down a fun and challenging combination, still highlighting riffs and musicality, with less talky-talky, lots of dancey-dancey. Class 3: Rock It! An exploration of rock steps and the space between them. Let's revisit the first step most Lindy Hoppers learn — a deceptively simple yet crucial element of truly conversational social dancing. Class 4: Love the Circle The focus of jam circles is often the action taking place in the center. In this class, we'll build awareness of what's happening around the circle and find new ways to stay supportive and keep the magic of the jam alive.
