Tammy Fassaert is a compelling performer and fine songwriter! Born and raised in Vancouver but calling the Comox Valley home since the ’90s, Tammy lights up the stage and draws in the audience with her powerful singing and humorous candour.
Tammy Fassaert is a compelling performer and fine songwriter! Born and raised in Vancouver but calling the Comox Valley home since the ’90s, Tammy lights up the stage and draws in the audience with her powerful singing and humorous candour. Tammy adds texture and variety to her lively shows with versatile guitar accompaniment, from rhythmic and punchy, to melodic and pretty, while being equally adept on upright bass — her ‘bread-and-butter’ for several years.
Tammy is esteemed in Bluegrass, Contemporary Folk, and Acoustic/Roots circles, and has inspired many younger performers over the years. While these days she is more often singing for the seniors in care homes as a volunteer, a younger Tammy took her live shows around the world, promoting her two critically-acclaimed solo albums, plus a third with then–Victoria-based trio Shearwater Bluegrass. Engaging a live audience with her music still puts Tammy in her happy place!
