Hands-on AI workshop for public sector staff. Learn responsible AI use, practical tools, and real-world applications you can use immediatelyJoin us in person for a hands-on look at how AI is transforming the public sector!Artificial intelligence is already showing up in public sector work. It is influencing budgets, reports, policies, engagement, elections, emergency management, and everyday communications. The question is no longer whether organizations will use AI. The question is how to use it responsibly while maintaining public trust.Following a successful session in Nanaimo this March, this one-day workshop is coming to Victoria. Led by communications strategist Julie Rogers and AI specialist Daphne Thomson, the session combines practical governance guidance with hands-on experience using AI tools.Participants will explore how to introduce AI responsibly in public-sector and board-governed organizations while also learning practical skills they can apply immediately. The workshop focuses on clear policies, ethical guardrails, and real workplace applications such as drafting reports, summarizing information, improving financial explanations, and supporting communications.By the end of the day, participants will:
Understand responsible AI use in public-sector environments
See real examples of automation and Copilot agents in action
Use AI to support reporting, analysis, and clearer communication
Understand risks and boundaries related to elections and governance
Build practical skills that improve clarity, efficiency, and trustThe Nanaimo session received strong feedback from participants, who described the workshop as practical, engaging, and immediately useful in their day-to-day work. This session is designed for local government staff, board-governed organizations, non-profits, Chambers of Commerce, and school boards looking for practical guidance on using AI thoughtfully and responsibly.
