The founder of the Stomp Club and the Capital City Syncopators, Avram McCagherty, is proud to present a quartet of Jazz masters to you on September 26. Drawing from their different strengths and experiences ranging from countless bands, Cirque Du Soleil, Broadway musicals and more, this powerhouse all-star group promises to provide a show that is deeply rooted in traditional jazz whilst forging new ground. Avram McCagherty- guitar/vocals Brooke Maxwell- piano/vocals Patrick Boyle-trumpet Scott White - bass BROOKE MAXWELL Brooke Maxwell is a freelance musician based in Victoria, BC, Canada. He is also a sound designer, composer, arranger and the co-creator of the acclaimed Ride the Cyclone (Chicago, NY Off-Broadway, Seattle, Atlanta & Minneapolis). He recently produced the cast album for RTC, which is now available through Warner Bros. on all major streaming services. He currently performs around the island with the Beautiful Maladies, The Chuckleberries, Wild Honey Pie and at his regular home base, Pagliacci's. PATRICK BOYLE Patrick Boyle is a musician and composer who plays trumpet and guitar. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the University of Victoria School of Music. In 2022, he released his 7th solo album entitled Stepworks, a compilation of musical creations for American choreographer Justin Rapaport. Check out for more info. SCOTT WHITE Victoria welcomes home local legend Scott White. Scott left Canada to become the Musical Director, bandleader and bass player for Berlin’s Cirque du Soleil. A gifted bassist, pre-COVID, he toured around Europe and North America collaborating with many renowned musicians in styles ranging from Russian Folk and Gypsy Swing to Free Jazz. Scott is a very entertaining player to hear and watch. His sound palette encompasses many unorthodox percussive and melodic effects. He is a virtuoso with an unmatched playing style. AVRAM MCCAGHERTY Avram has founded popular local bands such as The Stomp Club, The Dixie Sweethearts and The Capital City Syncopators. He also plays with The Yiddish Columbia State Orchestra, Canus, Dixieland Express, Blackstick, Twango and the Vanity Project. Avram has spent years learning to emulate the great Swing Guitar legends of the ‘30s and has a very rhythmic, authentic sound.
