Learn how to create your own unique, handmade brooms! Participants will make turkey tail and hawk tail brooms in this hands-on class. Join experienced broom maker, Becka Viets of Hexagon Textile & Broom in learning hand broom making basics. Students will learn with skills to make turkey tail brooms and hawk tail brooms. This class will also cover broom anatomy, lore, history, a demo, and hands-on broom making time. Supplies to make two+ brooms are included. Additional supplies will be available for purchase. Recommended ages 15+. Physical abilities needed: grasping, holding, turning/rotating, maintaining tension between a stick under feet and a broom in hands. Becka is joining us from Bellingham to teach this class! Note: this class has been rescheduled from 12/11. New date for this class is 1/24 from 12-2:30pm. This class is held at the Art Barn at the new Alchemy Art Farm at 45 Hawthorne Lane. Directions and parking information will be included in your confirmation email.
