Pacific Rhythm and Fortress are connecting once again, and this time we're presenting a new party concept rooted around a long-winded and intentional approach to a night out called BRAIN BATH. For our inaugural session, we're excited to welcome the Balearic maestro and dance music archivist Apeinto to the city for the first time. Apiento has had a long and winding history in dance music that's taken him from working for the legendary Junior Boy's Own label, working alongside Dave 'Switch' Taylor as Yes Productions making beats for MIA, and onward to operating the massively influential label and blog, Test Pressing. The term “a DJ's DJ” is overused and quite a cliché at this point, but it stands true here. Get excited to hear something new and exciting that will change your perspective and move your body. We'll be opening up the evening nice and slow with an ambient set from the BRAIN BATH DJs and a complimentary tea service from our island friends, Softer Drink. They'll also be bringing along some beautiful Pu'er with them that will be available for purchase. After that, Edmonton's finest environmental practitioner, Khotin, will be performing live. There's a strong chance that by this point you're well aware of Khotin's lush, deeply emotive, and iconic sound, but if you haven't had the pleasure, this would be a great introduction to the world of Khotin Industries.
