In this therapeutic art workshop, we will focus on SLOW art-making.
In this therapeutic art workshop, we will focus on SLOW art-making... "wrapping" as a creative care process, working with paper, sticks, yarn, embroidery thread, strips of fabric…
We’ll chat about understanding and approaching art-making as a creative care practice …something that we repeat, something that we reach for and bring into our lives as wee bits of soothing balm. Some reprieve from the ALL-ness of it all. Some space to gather and ground ourselves, so that we don’t get stuck in the overwhelm. Space and practices to nourish, strengthen, and empower ourselves.
We’ll explore art-making as a sensory experience …how does it FEEL to be in a body that’s making art …making marks.
We’ll also chat about some logistics around building (and maintaining) an ongoing creative care practice of your own (solo and/or in community).
I'll have lots of options for wrapping, but if you have something at home (or that you've maybe found in nature) that you'd especially like to work with ...please bring it!
NO experience with art-making is required to attend.
