Join us for an intimate and culturally rich evening celebrating the launch of
Angela’s Shadow, a stunning hardcover screenplay featuring Cree syllabic translation.
Hosted at Forecast on Main, the night brings together film, language, and Indigenous artistry in a warm, social setting with drinks and appetizers.
Director and writer Jules Koostachin will be in attendance for a book signing, with a short conversation/Q&A at 7pm with George Stroumboulopoulos.
The evening will feature a live First Nations carving demonstration by Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) artist Darren Yelton, who will create a piece on-site while sharing stories and insights into his culture throughout the event.
Guests will also enjoy live music from Beating Heart, a soulful fusion of traditional Indigenous flute and jazz guitar, creating a unique and tranquil atmosphere.
This is a special opportunity to experience a powerful intersection of Indigenous storytelling, language preservation, and live artistry in an intimate setting.
