Join us for a UVic School of Music faculty concert celebrating the rich colours and expressive possibilities of chamber music.
The evening features Beethoven’s Trio for trumpet, horn, and trombone, performed by Merrie Klazek, Sam McNally, and Graham Middleton (Principal Trombone, Victoria Symphony). This rarely heard early work highlights the playful dialogue and bold resonance of the brass family.
The program continues with Max Bruch’s Eight Pieces, Op. 83 — a collection of lyrical and warmly romantic miniatures. Performed by Pam Highbaugh Aloni, Michelle Feng, and Arthur Rowe, these pieces offer intimate moods and beautifully intertwined lines.
Also on the concert is Francis Poulenc’s charming Trio for oboe, bassoon, and piano. At once elegant, witty, and deeply expressive, the trio showcases the unique character of each instrument. Featured in this performance are Katrina Russell (bassoon), Michelle Feng (oboe), and Arthur Rowe (piano).
