Event Description
The Dance Centre presents the Global Dance Connections series
Corporeal Imago
Drift
Choreographers Gabrielle Martin and Jeremiah Hughes unveil a striking world premiere in which the human form recedes into a scarred and shifting landscape.
Drift unfolds through transfigured bodies, cosmic noise, and immersive atmospheric effects, conjuring the silent reign of ancestral whispers, unseen life, and planetary rhythms.
With this latest work, the award-winning co-directors push the boundaries of physical and visual performance, imagining an altered ecology where movement becomes a quiet meditation on transformation.
• Duration: 50 minutes
• Post-show artist talkback May 22
• Includes haze, smoke and strobe-like effects
• Presented through the Artist-in-Residence program
• Please note that we are not able to admit latecomers after the show has started, to ensure the safety of the performers.
Accessibility: This performance takes place in the Faris Family Studio, our intimate black box theatre space, which is wheelchair-accessible. When booking tickets, patrons who use wheelchairs or other mobility aids should select the ‘accessible’ seat type to ensure seating in the front row which is stair-free: limited spaces available. There are wheelchair-accessible washrooms in the theatre lobby. Please contact us if you require any assistance.
