This event marks the closing of Nova’s Global Storywork Program, where a group of local artists developed their understanding of ethical storysharing in collaboration with international artist, Dalhan (based in Turkey).
This event includes a viewing of their art process, a roundtable discussion, a collaborative activity, and a raffle. All proceeds go to the future of this program.
What is the storywork program?
Nova’s Global Storywork Studio is a globally focused program that connects a cohort of local artists in Victoria with an international artist to explore the intersections of storytelling, ethics, and artistic practice across cultures.
Through a guided workshop with Lajah, 2 dialogue sessions with the international artist, and creative expression, participants reflected on how to engage in ethical storywork through art.
Storywork fundraiser event
This event includes:
A viewing of the cohort’s art process (on display), INCLUDING a video loop of artwork from international artist- Dalhan
An opening about grounding values of ethical storysharing
A roundtable discussion with the cohort, sharing about their experiences and learning
A collective activity based around storysharing
Why Fundraise?
The first round of this program happened with the generousity of the Buschlen Mowatt Nichol Foundation. However, the future of this program depends on if our local community sees it as important.
This program is a COMMUNITY RESPONSE. This means that we will only continue it if our local community sees it as important. If you see this work as valuable or hope to participate in the future, please consider attending so we can keep this program alive and free of charge for participants. Ticket sales for this event will be directed into the continuity of our storywork programs that focus on building international connections for local artists.
If we do not make enough to fully fund this program, all money raised through this fundraiser will go towards adapting this program into something else that still honours the same intention and goals.
