Formerly known as Cuarteto Chroma, the Bellas Artes Quartet returns to UVic for a special afternoon concert celebrating their journey from students to one of Mexico’s premier string quartets. Now performing regularly in major concert halls across Latin America, Cuarteto Bellas Artes is widely recognized for their artistry, vitality, and musical excellence. The program traces the expressive breadth of the string quartet repertoire, featuring Haydn’s elegant and inventive String Quartet No. 4, the bold rhythmic energy of Revueltas’ String Quartet No. 4, and Beethoven’s richly expressive String Quartet No. 7.
