Celebrate December’s Family Sunday with our featured artist, Victoria Symphony Orchestra percussionist Masako Hockey, who will lead an interactive musical experience alongside a hands-on instrument-making activity. Masako will ignite curiosity and excitement by teaching how rhythm and texture exist in music, as they do in visual art. Inspired by the Fifty Shades of Ink: Ink Paintings from the AGGV Collection, create ink using an ink stick and stone and try ink-blot printmaking to make a card to share. Engage in the Gallery scavenger hunt with a draw for an artful prize package and enjoy a festive day of creativity, music, and fun for all ages. Family Sundays are included with admission. Admission is always free for the following groups: Visitors age 25 and under AGGV Members and See Art Pass holders Indigenous peoples Support workers Family Sunday happens every third (and sometimes second or fourth) Sunday of the month from October – June, and is an afternoon of exploring hands-on art-making and ideas for all ages.
