Event Description

*Screening of the film Titane, by Julia Ducournau (2021) in French with English subtitles* Join us for an exciting in-person event where we'll watch Titane! Winner of the Palme d'Or at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, Titane is a caustic and transgressive thriller, a visionary work that has helped redefine the boundaries of recent cinema, both in France and internationally. Julia Ducournau's second feature film explores the limits of the body and identity in a hypnotic and brutal narrative that borrows as much from the codes of science fiction and body horror as it does from the automotive fetishism of David Cronenberg's cinema and Greek mythology. A must-see film event! This event takes part of the Écrans/Scènes festival, organized by Réseau franco, a francophone initiative at UVic.
