Get moving with Feet to the Beat, an energizing and joyful dance program designed for all levels of experience.
ABOUT KYM BUTLER
Kym has been a dance educator/movement instructor for almost 40 years. If it involves moving the body, then she has facilitated the body moving. She has worked with figure skaters, gymnasts, models, musicians and, of course, dancers. Kym has choreographed for music videos, television commercials, award ceremonies, concert dance, drag pageants, parades and flash mobs. There is no age or skill limit in Kym's classes, she can teach any beginner and refine the seasoned artist. Her sessions are welcoming, inclusive and most importantly, fun! Currently, Kym teaches the "Feet to the Beat" program at the Kerby, now Unison Centre for seniors, downtown. A program she created to keep the young at heart moving and grooving while also focusing on maintaining the cognitive skills, balance, coordination and dexterity for the maturing body.
ABOUT FOREVER YOUNG: SENIORS' WEDNESDAYS
Forever Young celebrates lifelong connections to music, offering free Studio Bell admission for music lovers aged 65 and up every Wednesday. This engaging program invites seniors and their families to explore Canada’s musical heritage across five floors of exhibitions, bringing to life the stories — and soundtrack — of their generation through rare memorabilia and hands-on activities. Part of the National Music Centre’s commitment to using music as a tool for wellbeing, Forever Young creates welcoming spaces for seniors to gather and connect with music, community, and each other. Monthly drop-in programs will feature a variety of interactive experiences for all ages that spark memories, inspire creativity, and create connections across generations.
Admission is free for seniors (65+) every day from June 1-5 for Seniors' Week.
