Participants will learn the core concepts of version control and how to use GitHub for personal projects. Topics include creating repositories, committing changes, pushing and pulling code, and understanding the basic workflow developers use every day. ​ Part 2: Collaboration & Branching - April 9th Building on the fundamentals from Part 1, this session introduces collaborative development practices used in real-world teams. Participants will learn about branching, pull requests, resolving conflicts, and managing contributions across multiple collaborators. Completion of Part 1 (or equivalent knowledge) is required for this session. ​ 💻 Bring your laptop — this is a fully hands-on session! ​ 🛠 Workshop Requirements: • ​ Operating System • Linux (Ubuntu 20.04+ recommended) • Windows 10/11 • macOS 10.15+ • ​ Required Accounts • GitHub account – https://github.com (students should create one if they do not already have it) • ​ Required Software • Git Install from: https://git-scm.com/downloads (After installation, verify with: git --version) • Code Editor (VS Code recommended) Download from: https://code.visualstudio.com/ • Web Browser Chrome, Firefox, or Edge ​ ​☕ Light refreshments will be provided. ​ ​Seats are limited — register now to secure your spot!
