Knit With Purpose: Sharing the Spirit of Allyship and Reconciliation
Join us at 552 Johnson St. to take part in a special pop-up event, held in the true spirit of allyship and reconciliation. For the first night of the Pop-Up on Thursday November 20 we will be doing a Shop & Sip Offering complimentary wine and mocktails during the event!
Knit With Purpose, a social enterprise of the Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC), proudly supports and uplifts knitters from the Cowichan Valley through the creation of authentic Cowichan sweaters, toques, and slippers.
This meaningful initiative is overseen by Kari McLay, Director of Community Engagement & Fund Development at VNFC, who works closely with knitters and community partners to ensure that Indigenous artisans are recognized, celebrated, and fairly compensated for their work.
We’re deeply grateful to Ecologyst for their warm support and allyship, and we look forward to showing up, sharing our stories, and celebrating this partnership together.
Also featured at the pop-up:
Ravensong Soaps — a woman-owned Indigenous bath and body company from Campbell River, B.C. Their special Cowichan Sweater Soap, infused with rosemary, mint, and pine, is inspired by the natural beauty and strength of the Coast.
Event Details:
Ecologyst Retail Store, Victoria BC
Featuring Cowichan sweaters, toques, slippers, and Ravensong soaps
Presented in the spirit of friendship, healing, and hope
Please RSVP at your earliest convenience so we can confirm numbers. You will be contacted the Monday before the event to confirm your attendance. Please make sure you cancel your ticket if you can no longer attend.
Ecologyst respectfully acknowledges the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Lekwungen (Lək̓ʷəŋən), Squamish (Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh), Lil'wat (L̓il̓wat7úl), and all Coast Salish Peoples on whose land we live, work, and play.
