Our season culminates in three masterworks of the literature: Beethoven’s Piano Trio Op.70 No 2 in E flat major is rich, compelling and bursting with melody. Johannes Brahms’ Violin and Piano Sonata in G major, Op.78 “Regensonate” (Rain Song) is a beautiful work admired for its geniality and eloquence. The concert concludes with Anton Arensky’s Piano Trio in D minor, Op.32 , a highly expressive work with many dark moments, yet ultimately triumphant.
