Event Description
To live with meditative awareness is to live close to the heart where we are open to beauty, love, and the sacred. Life becomes a work of art through naked perception, which sees the world as it is, not as we would like it to be. Meditation helps us cultivate an openness to hear, touch, and feel both our inner and outer world, so that they can speak to us in their own language. We appreciate the ordinary miracles of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch, as we connect to the natural world through our body and mind.
Program Price: By Donation. Suggested donation $10
Facilitator: Ira Rechtshaffer Ph.D. [www.wayofthemandala.com] has practiced psychospiritual psychotherapy for the past 35 years and has taught Buddhist philosophy and meditation for the past 40 years. Ira is the author of several books including Mindfulness and Madness: Money, Food, Sex, and the Sacred; and What Was in Buddha's Left Hand?: Tantric Teachings to Transform Neurosis into Sanity; If the Chakras had a Voice; and The Wisdom and Grace of Aging which will be available in 2026.
