This might be the most fabulous public awareness march Victoria sees this year. On May 16, a group of bold, midlife humans will be strutting from the Conference Centre to the BC Legislature in full kaftans, sequins, and unapologetic energy. It’s called the Roper Romp, and it’s all in the name of menopause and midlife health. Because half the population goes through it… and somehow we’re still whispering? We’re not whispering. We’re walking. Loudly. In excellent outfits. We’ll gather at the Victoria Conference Centre south patio by the fountain, then march together to the steps of the British Columbia Parliament Building (before heading to the Strathcona Rooftop Bar for cocktails/mocktails after 6pm). This is a joyful, determined show of solidarity. Voices, signs, and a community vibe that is bold but neighbourly. Historic but a little unruly. It’s visual, it’s meaningful, and it’s very Victoria.
