Event Description
Learn to mend your clothes using the Japanese patching method of Tsugi Hagi!
Join us in learning Tsugi Hagi (a Japanese collage-style patching) and simple hand-sewing techniques in a calm, supportive space. It is not only about repair, but also about slowing down, caring for what we already have, and allowing each piece to become uniquely its own. Attendees are encouraged to bring items from home they wish to repair (clothes/textiles with holes or rips). This beginner friendly workshop will be guided step-by-step and all materials (aside from the garments to repair) will be provided!
About the facilitator:
My name is Yuki, and I run the Tsugi-Hagi Project, where I have been introducing mending and repairing damaged items since this April. My workshops focus on repairing and reviving well-loved items through patching, hand sewing—including darning—and printing. Rather than hiding damage, Tsugi-Hagi embraces it, adding strength, character, and new life to fabrics.
