Chopping Spree blends genres at will, making every show a sight to see with their wild, intensely fun stage presence and captivating instrumental interplay. Under a jazz fusion ethos, their songs have delved into genres of 70s Japanese fusion, progressive rock, heavy metal, psychedelia, funk/disco, post-rock/ambient, and even rap. This unique experimental style creates a soundscape of hypnotic proportions. Reflected through their energetic performance and technicality, each show will leave you waiting for the next one. cistern Cistern play rock music like the best bands formed at the periphery: raw, scrappy, intuitive – a group of friends forging awe and anguish into song. Inspired by the indie rock of the 00’s, 90’s slowcore and 80’s post punk and goth music, their sound balances their eclectic music tastes to create something uniquely their own. Their songs often incorporate obscure, angular melodies and grooves while trying to hook the listener with guitar lines and vocal refrains. Drawing on multiple songwriters and writing in a collaborative way allows for a wide variety of styles and influences to penetrate their music, often resulting in songs with unconventional song structures and drastic dynamic changes. Based in Squamish, BC a relatively small and isolated town, the band operates outside of any convention big city “music scene” - allowing a focus on writing and recording without much peer influence or industry tampering. DACEY DACEY (pronounced DA-SEE) is a Vancouver-based Indie / Alt-R&B sensation. Consisting of duo Dacey Andrada (lead singer) and Justin Tecson (guitar / keys) , they leave you captivated with their honest lyricism using the sounds of alternative R&B, Neo-Soul, Jazz and Indie. The duo have been featured on editorial playlists like Fresh Finds, and highlighted by Ones to Watch and CBC Music. They are currently signed to 88rising Publishing. Dead Summer Dead Summer is a modern rock duo built on punchy riffs, infectious hooks, and high-energy performances. Formed by Nate Prevedoros and Michael Wilford, the pair deliver tight, hard-hitting songs that command attention. Think Royal Blood or The White Stripes, with a sharper pop edge. houseguest houseguest is an all-trans post-emo rock band trying to see hope through a haze of disillusionment, penning queer anthems that reach for silver linings while embracing the sliver of sadness that runs deeply through it all. through a delay soaked, dual-vocalist, heavy-hitting lens, they attempt to make sense of the existential whiplash of the world and distill it into honest, human, raw stories of joy, despair and disappointment. houseguest knows that everything ends, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't sing at the top of your lungs. Jian Ross & Kitten Co. Jian & Kitten Co. is an indie-rock band fronted by Jian Ross, who first gained attention online as a cover artist. Now stepping into the real world with her kittens, the band blends cutesy synths and distorted guitars with diary-like, confessional lyrics. Jian & Kitten Co. weaves together the raw vulnerability of sad girl anthems with the high-energy of punk-infused rock. Drawing inspiration from artists like Mitski, Big Thief, and Wednesday, the band hopes to strike a chord with the modern-day cat. About SoMa: A new name, a new chapter.
