Music Matters is an annual national conference hosted by Music United, an organization of United Church musicians from across Canada! Music Matters is a weekend of singing, playing, sharing, supporting and learning. All musicians are invited to share and learn in community. This year’s Music Matters will be held at Hillhurst United Church in Calgary, Alberta where Music Director Amanda Massey will be our host and via ZOOM on April 23-26 2026. For anyone available to arrive early, there will be a road trip to Banff on Thursday morning leaving at 9:00 am. Some of our workshop highlights will include how to play from a lead sheet, create and rehearse with a worship band, vocal techniques, sacred drumming, incorporating indigenous components into worship, inclusive language, and lots and lots of music.
