This concert celebrates Mendelssohn’s enduring gifts through two of his most beloved chamber works: the Piano Trio in D minor and the Octet in E-flat major, both written while he was still in his teens and early twenties. The Piano Trio captivates with sweeping lyricism, sparkling interplay, and Mendelssohn’s trademark elegance, while the Octet—composed at just sixteen—remains one of the most remarkable feats of youth in all of classical music.
