Two of Canada’s greatest R&B & Soul Singers team up for the funkiest show of the Summer: Soul Spectacular! Dawn Pemberton & Krystle Dos Santos have been thrilling Canadian audiences with their unique blends of soul, funk, & R&B for years….racking up Juno nominations, Western Canadian Music Awards, and pretty much every other accolade this country can give.On May 30 they will be teaming up for Soul Spectacular, a special night at Vancouver’s Rickshaw Theatre where they’ll be performing their own takes on some of soul music’s biggest legends such as Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, and many more.They’ll be joined by The Midnight Movers, an incredible backing band featuring some of Vancouver’s funkiest musicians. Dawn Pemberton is a vibrant, soulful Canadian vocalist and multiple Juno Award nominee whose powerful voice moves effortlessly from gospel and soul to jazz, funk, and world music. A staple of the Vancouver music scene, she has toured extensively across Canada and Europe, sharing stages with legends like Bettye LaVette and Kurt Elling, and opening for Maceo Parker and St. Paul & The Broken Bones. Dawn’s acclaimed debut album, Say Somethin’, earned her the title of “the new queen of Canadian soul.” She is also the founder of the Roots ‘N’ Wings Women’s Choir, a sought-after educator, and host of Get on The Good Foot on CKUA Radio. With adventure, groove, and heart, Dawn brings music to life, hitting audiences where it counts and leaving them wanting more. Krystle Dos Santos is a 2x Western Canadian award winning singer/songwriter and performer. Her award winning self titled album was released in 2008, followed by Fame Fatale in 2011. BLOOM|BURN, her 3rd studio release, awarded her the WCMA for R&B artist of the year in 2020. From singing on stage with Stevie Wonder and Michael Buble to theatre performances on stages all around North America, Dos Santos brings her eclectic style, powerful vocal prowess and magnetic charm to every performance she delivers.
