Come explore the history of Bowness Park which at one time was referred to as “Calgary’s Coney Island!” Through this tour you will learn how Bowness Park came to be and discover how and why people have and continue to visit this beloved park. This picnic site is in the Northwest corner of the parking lot nearby the public washrooms. WALK NOTES: Breaks offered along the way, will use speakers / voice amplification YOUR WALK LEADER: Anna Benko (she / her) is a Cultural Landscape Coordinator with Calgary Parks & Open Spaces. In her role she works to create meaningful experiences that help visitors learn and connect with the history of different parks across the City of Calgary. ***Please note, we ask that folks cancel their tickets through Eventbrite if they can no longer make it to a walk as tickets are limited. This allows folks on the waitlist to take open spots.***
