Event Description
The next Sunday Afternoon Milonga at The Coda is on 1st March 2026 1.00pm-4.00pm.
Come join us for another wonderful afternoon of warm hugs and close embrace and dance to the beautiful music of the Argentine Tango.
At this event, we will have a special DJ from Vancouver, Doug Brons. This is Doug’s short bio…
Doug fell in love with tango music during his first trip to Buenos Aires in 2007. He started
dancing in 2014, while continuing to build his knowledge and music collection. His musical
selections are grounded in the Golden Age classics but will blend in tandas from the 1930s
and the1950s/60s when the timing is right. His goal is to create a variety of moods, emotions
and energy in harmony with the dancers to keep everyone on the dance floor. He also believes
cortinas are an important part of creating the right ambience and loves to select cortinas that
captivate the dancers. Doug actively DJs at various milongas, marathons and mini-festivals in
his region and in Vancouver, his hometown.
Doug together with his wife Amelia, are also the current winners of Vancouver’s first MATC competition.
