Event Description
Palmistry is one of the oldest forms of divination, and there are traditions worldwide.
Palmistry is one of the oldest forms of divination, and there are traditions worldwide. Ciaran uses a method that draws heavily from the western tradition of palmistry. Palmistry as a craft is useful for obtaining general life overview, including strengths and weaknesses, preferences and general character. Ciaran will talk with people attending the workshop about the geography of the palm, including the mounds and fingers, the key lines, and how to interpret markings and coordinate different pieces of information into a whole. The workshop will involve reading each other's hands and seeing what they can see. Palm comparisons can show where friction between individuals can occur.
Participants should bring a journal and pen.
Ciaran MacCoinneach has been reading for almost thirty years, and has learned from and taught fellow practitioners in Guatemala, Morocco, Canada, New Zealand, Ecuador and elsewhere. He finds traditional divination fascinating and is legally a wizard in New Zealand. He has recently returned to Victoria after many years abroad. All forms of traditional divination or fortune telling can be seen as ways of making sense of the here and now, but with glimpses of the past and future to make sense of the present. The future has not happened yet, the past is open to reinterpretation for new lessons. Different forms of divination have different flavours based on the technique used.
