Event Description
For a charge of $3 per pound, we will send your unusable textile waste to Debrand's sorting facility in Metro Vancouver. Debrand combines in-house tech-enabled sortation with expert solution partnerships to efficiently send textiles to their next-best use. Through their recycling and responsible disposal partnerships, your textile waste can become fiber fill, insulation or energy, instead of going straight to a landfill and polluting our earth. Learn more about Debrand and their ecosystem approach to textile sustainability on their website, debrand.ca. The $3 per pound that you pay for this recycling service is what it costs us to pack, ship, and recycle. Any excess funds are applied to our next month's recycling shipment, if we receive a fabric donation that we are unable to send back into circulation due to stains or other damage.
We can accept all types of fibers to be recycled. This includes stained clothes, curtains, bed linens, serger scraps, thread, and more. Children's clothes too stained to go to the thrift store? Jeans with too many holes? That garment sewing project you cut incorrectly and never finished? Fluffy offcuts from your serger? We'll take it! Buttons, zippers, and other hardware are OK. Please remove clothing hangers, security tags, or any other large plastics. Please feel free to phone us at (778)433-6253 if you are unsure about what you're bringing. If possible, please bring your textiles pre-packed in cardboard boxes.
