We are delighted to announce the return of underground dubstep legend Joe Nice to Victoria on May 30th. While his sound, sets and production are monumental, his accomplishments go far beyond his history of headlining shows and music festivals here on the West coast. Joe has been extensively involved in activism including being selected as a guest speaker at the Medicare-For-All march in Washington DC. He is frequently seen wearing his yellow vest representing the Gilet Jaune movement in France and other nations supporting social, environmental, and economic justice for all. He is a strong and outspoken advocate in the fight against ableism, colonialism, fascism, homophobia, sexism, and racism. Humanity, freedom, equality, and survival remain at the forefront of his values. Yes, Joe is a legend for being the first American-based DJ to play on London pirate radio Rinse FM and for his relentless passion for pushing the UK bass sound worldwide. Please come show Joe our appreciation and celebrate Volume 6 of Victoria's own UK music monthly, United Sound.

Born in Southampton, United Kingdom, growing up in Baltimore, MD, USA but now living in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Joe Nice is universally recognized as the ambassador of the dubstep sound in North America and has been highly instrumental in the growth and success of dubstep and bass music for the past seventeen years. Essentially, he played dubstep before the genre had a name. He is North America's first and most respected dubstep DJ and is globally known as one of the most genuine and talented artists in the dubstep community. Staying true to the art and essence of djing, Joe performs at his events using only turntables, records, and dubplates.

Mirage's musical journey mirrors the illusory nature of sound, bending and refracting across genres, creating an experience that captivates and transcends expectations in the realm of music production. Originally hailing from Québec, Mirage (formerly known as ‘Blackout’) began delving into the fusion of breaks and hip-hop on the analog grooves of vinyl in 2010. In his latest exploration, Mirage immerses himself in the depths of 140, UKG, Deep D&B & Jungle, consistently pushing the boundaries.
Beyond the studio, Mirage is a community-builder in Victoria, B.C.'s music scene. The architect behind Dubversified Culture, he founded this underground community in 2017 with a mission to elevate local West Coast bass artists and forge connections across global Bass music and the local dance music scenes. Host of a monthly show on Subtle Radio (UK), Mirage's dedication underscores his commitment to navigating the ever-evolving landscape of electronic music.

Andrea Wolf (aka: Andrea Wolfson) is a Canadian DJ and emerging producer whose sound is a bold, genre-blending love letter to the UK undergrounD and beyond. Based in Victoria, Canada, she is on a personal mission to bring the pulse of garage, grime, dubstep, and jungle to Canada’s West Coast—placing UKG at the heart of the dance floor.
In 2025, Andrea cemented her reputation as one to watch by winning the Vancouver Island DJ Competition. She now holds a residency at The Downbeat (formerly the iconic Hush nightclub). A trained therapist and Coach, Andrea approaches DJing as both an art and a healing practice. Her sets are curated with intentionality—inviting connection, emotional release, and collective joy. With a collaborative spirit, Andrea is passionate about building community on and off the decks. As one of the only women in Canada specializing in UKG and speed garage, her standout style is both innovative and craved. With her future sights set on playing the UK's Kindred, Rinse FM, Mix Mag and The Warehouse Project, for now she’s making Victoria a home for bassline magic—one dancefloor at a time

The underground's high energy authority on all things 140. Since stepping into the scene at age 15, she has evolved into a powerhouse selector known for "in your face" sets that blend deep dub with a sexy, obscure edge. Frequently described as a DJ “for the girls,” her sound brings a feminine grit to the heavy hitting spectrum, making the dance floor feel as empowering as it is loud.
When she isn't destroying the dancefloor, she’s a pillar of the community, assisting in harm reduction efforts for Vancouver islands best secret festivals and Mindgarden events. Expect heavy bass, punchy transitions, and exactly what you didn't know you needed to hear.
