We’re horrified—in the best way! Wordfest presents an evening with Canadian fright-lit meisters Nick Cutter (The Dorians) and Marcus Kliewer (The Caretaker). The deliciously chilling conversation, hosted by Wordfest’s Creative Ringleader Shelley Youngblut, includes an audience Q & A and book signing. Nocturne Books, Calgary’s newest indie bookseller, will be on site, stocked with Cutter and Kliewer’s backlists. (You can pre-order your copy of The Dorians, The Caretaker, and a boneyard of backlist titles here.) Nick Cutter is the author of the critically acclaimed national bestseller The Troop (being developed for film with producer James Wan), The Deep, Little Heaven, The Queen, and The Handyman Method, cowritten with Andrew F. Sullivan. Nick Cutter is the pseudonym for Craig Davidson, whose much-lauded literary fiction includes Rust and Bone, The Saturday Night Ghost Club, and, most recently, the short story collection Cascade. His story “Medium Tough” was selected by author Jennifer Egan for The Best American Short Stories 2014. While he once called Calgary home, he now lives in Toronto. Marcus Kliewer is a writer and stop-motion animator. His debut novel We Used to Live Here began life as a serialized short story on Reddit. Film rights were snapped up by Netflix, and it was acquired by Simon & Schuster in the US for publication even before it had been extended into a full-length novel. He lives in Vancouver.
