Event Description
Legendary Seattle pop-rock band returns to Vancouver for the first time in over 33 years.
Yes, it's really true. After 33 long years, the hugely influential Seattle rock 'n' roll band the Young Fresh Fellows are actually returning to perform in Vancouver for one night only, at the newly renovated American on Main Street. The event celebrates their upcoming new album "Loft" on Yep Roc Records.
The Young Fresh Fellows are arguably the first band to put Seattle on the tastemaker's map with a series of well-received albums that topped North American college and campus charts, several years before the Emerald City became world famous as the grunge capital.
The Young Fresh Fellows have kept on keepin' on, before, during and after the hype, for an incredible 40+ years as a band. On lead vocals and principal songwriting is the legendary artist Scott McCaughey, also of the Minus 5, REM, and the Baseball Project. On bass guitar is Fellow founding member Jim Sangster, also of the Tripwires, Sgt. Major, the No 3s, and Mudhoney. On lead guitar is the iconic Kurt Bloch from the Fastbacks. On drums is the newest edition to the band, John Perrin of NRBQ.
40 years in, the Fellows' live show is just as dynamic as ever, often playing favourites from their 15 (or so) albums: beloved songs like "How Much About Last Night Do You Remember?", "Hillbilly Drummer Girl", "My Friend Ringo", "Taco Wagon", "Becky Doll" and countless others.
Opening the show will be Vancouver mod power-pop mainstays the Tranzmitors with other special guests to be announced. See you dancing in the front row!
