Funk 'n Soul in the Township is a three-day music festival happening June 26–28 at Bullen Park in Esquimalt, apart of the TD Victoria International JazzFest. Featuring a diverse lineup of artists including GeminiCrab, SHEBAD, Snacktime, WESLI, Etran de l’Air, The Rumble ft. Big Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr., and James Vickers Band. Alongside the music, there will also be a beer garden, food trucks, and craft vendors.

Montreal duo Geminicrab, has a lush, genre-blending high-soul sound that fuses R&B, jazz, hip hop, and experimental production into a modern, millennial-driven vibe. Ontario collective SHEBAD crafts a smooth, genre-fluid sound blending indie soul and jazz with rich, expressive vocals. Philadelphia's Snacktime brings a high-energy, feel good mix of soul, funk and alternative with a punchy brass, infectious grooves, and a lively, crowd-driven vibe. WESLI uses a vibrant, globally-infused sound blending Haitian roots, afrobeat, hip hop, and soul into an uplifting, rhythm-driven world music experience. Etran de l'aïr delivers hypnotic Saharan rock and desert blues, driven by pan-african guitar rhythms, swirling solos, and dance ready, sun soaked grooves. The Rumble capitalizes on electrifying New Orleans funk powered by brass-heavy grooves, Mardi Gras traditions, and high-energy, call-and-response-driven performances. James Vickers goes for a higher gritty, high-energy blues-rock sound driven by soulful guitar, raw vocals, and a youthful, rising star intensity.

There are also free shows at Bullen Park on Saturday June 27 and Sunday June 28. The artists performing during the day will include Vancouver Island Dynamite, The Redwood Twins, Swang Thang!, Tight Hair, Pablo Cardenas' West Coast Cuban Orchestra, and The Midnights.
