Event Description
In this hands-on leatherworking workshop, participants will design and build a custom leather belt from start to finish. Over 3 hours, you'll move through the full process of measuring, cutting, shaping, fastening, and finishing a durable, everyday piece.
You'll determine your ideal belt size, cut a leather strap to width, shape and bevel the ends, punch adjustment holes, stitch a belt keeper, and install a buckle using Chicago screws. Along the way, you'll learn to safely and confidently use tools such as a strap cutter, utility knife, leather hole punch, edge beveler, and hand-stitching needles. We'll also cover edge finishing techniques -- sanding, burnishing, and waxing -- for a clean, professional look.
This workshop emphasizes craftsmanship, precision, and working with intention.
Participants will leave with:
A custom-sized leather belt
Foundational leatherworking skills
Increased confidence using hand tools
No prior experience is required. All materials are provided. You're welcome to bring your own 1-1.5 buckle if you'd like to personalize your piece.
