Event Description

Tell a story. Make a small edition. Share — or don’t. Come join Zoe Cilliers and Jake Duncan in this two-day workshop, where participants will create one or more original mini zines while experimenting with various printmaking techniques in our studio. Youth will explore image, text, collage, and layout — then produce multiple printed copies of their work to keep, trade, or distribute. This is low-pressure storytelling. Participants choose what they create and whether they share it. The focus is creative exploration, identity-safe participation, and hands-on print processes. No prior art or writing experience required. Monday March 23 & Tuesday March 24 from 12pm to 4 pm What You’ll Make One or more folded mini zines Printed copies of your work Optional collage-based or text-based editions What You’ll Learn How to format and fold mini zines Basics of layout and visual storytelling Collage techniques using image and text Introductory printmaking methods (inking, rolling, pressing, layering) How small editions are created and shared.
