Wed, June 17 • 6:30am-8:30pm
In meditation, we sit with what arises. Usually when we write, we have a purpose. In meditative writing, we simply listen. We follow our thought with a pen in our hand, alert and curious. We observe the activity of our minds, noticing opinions, emotions, body sensations, and write those down as well.
As a friend of mine says, “It's like an off-leash park for my ADD.”
I will guide the group through a series of brief exercises and 10-minute writing periods, debriefing each and exploring how participants might use this practice on their own.
Our focus will be on the experience rather than the writing. Bring your favourite pen or pencil. Paper will be supplied. Little Gladstone Gallery, 1923 Fernwood Road
