SELAYNE grew up surrounded by music - her father, a talented musician and guitarist, influenced her love of music from a young age. She discovered electronic music after being a long-time fan of rock, punk and indie in 2016 at her first overnight camping music festival. SELAYNE has always been first a dancer and music enthusiast, which has exposed her to many dancefloors and styles of music on the West Coast. In addition to her love of live music and festivals, SELAYNE has spent over 12 years teaching ZUMBA fitness classes, a high energy dance fitness class with a focus on latin and world rhythms. SELAYNE draws inspiration from both her experience as a dance fitness instructor, her early memories of her father's music, and her love for indie rock, folk, and punk music. This unique experience has shaped her style as a DJ and emerging producer, incorporating many genres and flavors in her sets - focusing on percussive elements, groove, and soul, infused with melodic and emotive elements.
