🌱 5pm IS A TENTATIVE TIME 🌱
Are you tormented by the state of the world? Are you struggling to stay hopeful and fight for a better future?
Well, this book club is for you. Many incredible people have been doing revolutionary work for centuries, and they've gracefully shared their knowledge so we can learn from them, and find our place in the fight. The world has always been on fire in one way or another, and people have always been working together to put it out. It's our time to pick up a bucket.
To kick things off, we'll be reading “BE A REVOLUTION”, by Ijeoma Oluo. Not only is it incredibly written, this gem of a book also offers concrete suggestions on how to engage in activism work in your daily life. Let's get together and discuss how to implement these suggestions together!
📚 To-be-read (in no particular order):
- “Braiding Sweetgrass” and “The Serviceberry”, by Robin Wall Kimmerer
- “The Empire of AI”, by Karen Hao
- “Slow Down: The Degrowth Manifesto”, by Kohei Saito
- “The Solutions Are Already Here: Strategies of Ecological Revolution from Below”, by Peter Gelderloos
- “How to Abolish Prisons”, by Rachel Herzing and Justin Piché
and many more!!! Bring your own suggestions, and let's keep this list going!
👉 Books and meeting times will be chosen by vote. The book club will meet monthly on Sundays
