One man, one ghost story, one rap battle. Originally created as part of Studio 58’s 2022 Solo Show Project, BO$$ NGUYEN and The Countryside Ghost is a satirical rap and contemporary dance show. Formerly developed as two separate projects, this show combines a ghost story from the humid countryside of Vietnam and a fast-paced-in-your-face spoken word rap tale of a gangster wannabe. Exploring themes of Asian identity, greed, and family trauma, this piece seeks to answer whether or not we can truly escape the ghosts we have inherited.
